An alphabet of football terms —drawn from the Diccionario de Colombianismos— that proposes a subversive approach to football, using popular language as a method of deviation.
This video work functions as an audiovisual instruction manual that proposes a subversive way of approaching football through a series of popular football terms, arranged from A to Z and drawn from the Diccionario de Colombianismos (Dictionary of Colombian Spanish). These expressions, which refer to tactics and techniques for playing the game, are reframed through failure and losing streaks, invoking the Colombian expression no meterle ni un gol al arcoíris—literally, “not being able to score even against a rainbow.”
This ongoing project unfolds as an audiovisual and performative experiment that imagines fictional ways of relating to football. Within this framework, gesture, movement, and touch become points of departure for questioning the hegemonic place of the male body, whose centrality continues to be reinforced both within the world of sport and in the broader social landscape of Colombia.
