Clavo is an innovative art fair that seeks to become a meeting point for new collectors, demystifying the art scene as it has traditionally been perceived: as something inaccessible and difficult to understand.
Its goal is to connect the most recent proposals from 46 galleries, art spaces, publishers, services and other curatorial projects, with all interested people in a more inclusive way, providing personalized advice to open a conversation with the different actors involved.
In its second edition, Clavo will take place during the weekend of September 10-12, 2021 at Casa Versalles (Mexico City), a classic porfiriato house with a modern twist in the heart of Colonia Juárez in Mexico City.
It is an invitation to all interested people to begin to understand, to ask questions and to live a welcoming experience to the art scene in Mexico in an accessible way to understand that becoming an emerging collector is not something from another world.
Clavo will have a variety of proposals accompanied by guided tours and personalized attention so that visitors do not feel disoriented and both they and the galleries can benefit from a more open and personal experience. Entering an art fair without understanding anything is over!
What does a gallery do, why are there commissions and how do they work? Answering these and other questions, generating opportunities to better understand the art world and become a seedbed for new collectors, is Clavo’s goal.
