The Groups and Other Artistic Revolts. Networks and Collectivities in Mexico, 1976-1985 traces and exposes interconnected narratives that record the intensity of the relationships between the agents and the collectivities established in this period. The structure of the exhibition stems from the localization of events and encounters where the agendas of these artistic groups crossed, that is, from the conjunctures that became narratives of art in Mexico during the period of artistic production of these group subjects.
The exhibition, curated by a team made up of Mónica Amieva, Julio García Murillo, Pilar García, Jaime González Solís, and Daniel Montero, stems from a profound investigation of the collections housed in the Arkheia Documentation Center of the MUAC and proposes the historical reconstruction of some of the most representative pieces of the period based on documentary research. And it is the result of the research carried out in conjunction with the seventh generation of the Master’s in Art History in the area of Curatorial Studies of the Postgraduate Program in Art History UNAM, made up of Emil Becerril Zambrano, Fernanda Dichi Bocanegra, Grecia González López, Maira Montenegro Zepeda, Nicolás Muñoz Calderón, Diego Olmos Mancera, and María Pies Ortuzar.
