West Hollywood, CA – On Saturday, August 20th in Los Angeles, The New Arts Foundation will present High as the Sky, a group exhibition that thinks critically in a way that advances positions rather than restating them.

Curated by Greg Jenkins, the show’s opening reception will present a series of performances that progressively erode the boundaries between audience and art, thrusting a critical lens on the art world’s profit-seeking legacy institutions that isolate artists and art forms, rather than uniting them. New Arts’ enigmatic approach is reminiscent of work done by the Bernadette Corporation and ART CLUB2000 in the late ‘90s.

High as the Sky contains installation, sculpture, photo, and video from 14 contemporary artists from seven different countries, including Mexico. The artists exhibited are Rodrigo Arruda, Joachim Castaneda, Siena Foster-Soltis, Kristofor Giordano, Elizabeth Herring, Leila Jarman, Antonio Okun, Minga Opazo, Yana Pan, Stephanie Quirola, Gert Resinger, Hal Roeser, Anny Wass and Yanbin Zhao.

The show is funded in part by an arts development grant from the City of West Hollywood, and 10% of ticket sales will be donated to The Trevor Project, a West Hollywood-based mental health organization for LGBTQ youth.

New Arts is a nonprofit arts collective and persona known for its controversial, boundary-pushing presentations that challenge art market institutions and social norms.
