Terremoto is happy to welcome Brazilian artist Samuel de Saboia (Recife, 1997) to Mexico City, in collaboration with the new HABITAR artist-in-residence program* and Proyecto Público Prim. From early March and through mid-April, Samuel de Saboia is producing new work within the facilities offered by Proyecto Público Prim, a historic and creative venue located in colonia Juárez, at the heart of Mexico City. As a Main Partner of this project, Terremoto facilitated the exchange between the artist and various local key players in contemporary art, as well as with Proyecto Público Prim.

Samuel de Saboia’s practice can be perceived as a dialog with the divine. The creative process becomes a prayer, a meditation, a translation of the spiritual world onto the physical sphere. In this ballad between aura and earth, Samuel’s artwork has been their device for storytelling, for opening portals and building a world where magic and reality turn into one. Samuel de Saboia’s work has been shown and celebrated in Paris, Zurich, Los Angeles, New York, Marrakech, São Paulo and Mexico City.

The agenda of Samuel de Saboia’s residency features two events in April 2022:

Meet & Greet at the Brazilian Cultural Center in Mexico
