At Abasolo, El Whiskey de México –the only Mexican distillate made from cacahuazintle corn– we designed the exclusive ‘Abasolo Barrica Seleccionada’ program. An initiative created for whiskey lovers with which you can purchase your own barrel in our Abasolo Distillery and Winery, refine the notes of your distillate with the advice of our Master Distiller Iván Saldaña and live an immersive experience worthy of connoisseurs.
Become an expert.
The first step will be to evaluate your interests and preferences at the hands of Iván Saldaña; together they will be able to discover your ideal next barrel. Once your tastes in aromas and flavors have been discovered, we will invite you to an exclusive visit to our Abasolo Distillery and Winery to learn about the origin, processes and everything behind creating El Whiskey de México. While there, our Master Distiller will suggest up to 4 different barrels with a minimum of 24 months of aging, in which you can find some notes of corn, wood, honey and even leather.
Now we will involve your senses in the experience through barrel tasting. You will carry out a sensory evaluation like a true whiskey expert and you will live a professional tasting guided by Iván Saldaña, so you can choose the ideal barrel according to your personal profile. Once you have chosen your selected barrel, Welcome to the Abasolo Family!
As the owner of your barrel, it will be sealed, personalized with a plaque engraved with your name and we will give you a certificate of ownership. Now is the time to choose if you want your barrel to be stored at the distillery for up to 10 years, or if you prefer the bottles for yourself or as an exceptional gift. As a curious fact, from each barrel you can obtain up to 320 bottles, each one will bear a special edition label with the following authenticity information: bottle number, bottling date, aging time, your name or the name of whoever you choose, and the signature of Iván Saldaña.
