Clyo Mendoza

Clyo Mendoza is the author of the poetry collections Anamnesis (Cuadrivio, 2016) and Silencio (FOEM, 2018), for which she was awarded the International Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz Poetry Prize (2017). She has been a grant holder in the poetry area of the Fondo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes (Jóvenes creadores, 2015-2016); Novela (2020-2021); and the Fundación Antonio Gala, in Córdoba, Spain (2018-2019). She has collaborated in theatrical and transdisciplinary projects, and also spends her time painting, producing sound collage and photography. Her first novel, Furia, was published this year under the publishing label Almadía in Mexico and by Sigilo publishing house in Spain and Argentina. She won the Javier Morote Prize awarded by the Confederación Española de Gremios y Asociaciones de Libreros (2021). She has worked as a scriptwriter on the short film Mil ojos me observan, which was part of the official selection of the Black Canvas International Film Festival in Mexico City (2021), and a nominee in the Morelia International Film Festival for best national short film (2021).
