Tasting the World Without Getting Pricked until September 14th

Imagen principal

Visit Tasting the World Without Getting Pricked at Casa del Lago UNAM through September 14. Curated by Beto Díaz, curator of the FEMSA Collection, and guest curator Dea López, the exhibition invites you to explore food as a space of connection between the body, territory, and identity. Through 42 works by 37 artists, it weaves together diverse visual languages to explore the rituals and knowledge surrounding food: healing practices, knowledge transmission, and memory building.

Organized by the FEMSA Collection and Casa del Lago UNAM, the exhibition features 12 pieces from the FEMSA Collection, 29 from other collections, and one commissioned work. Paintings, installations, and videos converse about food as a daily and collective act—one capable of inscribing the history and geography of a community onto the palate and memory.

Artists:

Alan Sierra & Rafael Gutiérrez, Alba Serra, Antonia Gracia, Cristóbal Ascencio & Enrique Montaño, Ana Gallardo, Ana Hernández, Ana Mendieta, Ana Mercedes Hoyos, Angélica Fabián, Antoni Miralda, Antonio Henrique Amaral, Antonio Monroy, Aristeo Jiménez, Carlos Orozco Romero, Chantal Peñalosa Fong, Diego Pérez, Dulce Chacón, Enrique Argote, Espacio Lalitho (Ángel Cortes, Alejandro Medina, Reyes H. Cruz, Humberto Vásquez, Tony), Fernando Salcedo Suárez del Real, Francis Alÿs, Gabriel Figueroa, Gabriel Lengeling, Gabriela Estrada, Magdalena Fernández, Manuel Álvarez Bravo, Mayra Silva, Miguel Cinta Robles, Miriam Chiaverini, Nacho López, Polvo de Gallina Negra (Mónica Mayer & Maris Bustamante), Remedios Varo, Rubén Ojeda-Guzmán, Salvador Xharicata, Sergio Zamora, Thomas Glassford, Vica Pacheco, Yessica Díaz, Yunuen Díaz.
