Open Call for artistic residencies in Casa el Framboyán and Casa Lo’ol, Mérida

Casa el Framboyán –artistic residences and Casa Lo’ol– seek to promote activity around artistic practices and processes; promoting collaborative practices in order to enrich the way of relating and thinking about art and culture.

Casa el Framboyán –artistic residences and Casa Lo’ol– a graphic and design workshop, are part of the comprehensive artistic promotion and dissemination project of Lux Perpetua Art Center, located in Mérida, Yucatán. The project focuses on promoting activities around artistic practices and processes; fostering collaborative work in order to enrich the way of relating and thinking about art and culture.

While Casa Lo’ol has been operating since 2016, collaborating with artists to give life to graphic art proposals and producing work in various techniques of chalcographic engraving on copper plates; Casa el Framboyán opens its doors to proposals of a literary, scenic and visual nature, seeking the participation of individual or collaborative projects.

The project is located in one of the most emblematic neighborhoods of the city of Mérida; making the experience of inhabiting the space become one that encourages creativity, critical reflection and experimentation. Both residencies seek to immerse visitors in the context of the state of Yucatan, as well as establish links between local, national and international creative professionals. Lux Perpetua Art Centre, through its residency programs invite you to be part of its effort to generate dialogue around various sensitive expressions; through which both our diversity and what unites us in our human condition is manifested in parallel.

Casa el Framboyán: Applies from July 25 to August 31
Casa Lo’ol: The call will be open on the Lux Perpetua Art Center portal to apply at the beginning of January 2024 and until the beginning of February of the same year.

We are looking for artists of all ages (+18), contexts, identity, genres and expressions.
