Within the framework of the 10th edition of La Postal “el destello de algo más” curated by Ana Gabriela García and Helena Lugo, shepherdess Ventura Profana calls us to a prayer to destroy the Lord.
In one prayer,
Killing Israel’s god is expensive, but worth it. It is a fundamental gesture in the hard effort of achieving full radical liberty of the body, the imagination, and the spirit. A particle among the incessant necessary movements to overcome the scars, symptoms, effects and consequences obsessively brought upon by the evil colonial system.
For millennia, the colonial machine has obligated and enabled the individuals to take care of and protect everything that contributes to the crystallization and the increase of the riches, progress, and welfare of whiteness and its sovereignty. These are dynamics that imply, require and cause the exploitation and massive drainage of all sources of energy and life present on the planet. At the same time it instructs and institutes ideas, norms and behaviors that neglect, violate, defame and alienate the people, strengthening their diabolical racist structures and their phallic gear, and organizing the global panorama through violence which ensures the externalization of this process.
The land that writes us these words is not at peace, however, it manages, maneuvers and juggles the impossible with the intention of rest, joy and vital fulfillment. Inheriting the impoverished land of a disfigured planet that has been turned into an abusive valley of dry bones by religious methods. Even so, it finds in the ocean a song that brings with it a firm aroma of the memory that soothes: the earth is not captive to humanity.
