Alejandra Arrieta

is a documentary filmmaker, writer and researcher, interested in the moving image as a theoretical, artistic and philosophical expression. She holds a Master of Arts with Distinction in Film and Screen Studies from Goldsmiths, University of London (FONCA-CONACYT). Her work in archival, non-fiction and experimental film and television has been presented in important cultural spaces in Mexico, such as the Museo Universitario de Arte Contemporáneo MUAC, Museo de Arte Carrillo Gil and Museo Tamayo. She is also a curator of moving image and has written for cultural publications in Mexico and the UK. Her debut film Pola Weiss Documental, a feature film made with the support of FONCA, MUAC and TV UNAM, about the pioneer of video art and video dance in Mexico, will be released later this year.
