Under the title The Digestion of the Earth: Repertoires of Compost and Rubble, 2025 MAteria Abierta edition is curated by artist Naomi Rincón-Gallardo and will take place in Mexico City from July 28th to August 23rd.
The public program will explore the figure of the underground as a metabolism that processes toxicity and regenerates life. The underground will be our guide for identifying subterranean and clandestine webs, and for recognizing simultaneous materialities and temporalities beneath our feet, where what has decomposed and been discarded transforms into compost for the future.
