15 Bienal FEMSA

This edition focuses on the poetic dimension of art and is presented as a call to the different senses in the face of the centrality of sight and its rationalization in the Western tradition. It takes the mountain as its starting point: image, metaphor, memory and bodily experience that symbolizes a path of discovery to create relationships with the world.

The curatorial direction of La voz de la montaña explores themes of corporality, identity, territory and landscape, themes that cross the practices of the participating artists and that dialogue with the places that host the headquarters of this edition in the state of Guanajuato. Artist’s practices explored ways of walking the known landscapes, coexisting with the tones of the environment, crossing the mountain not only along the paths taken, but also through its intersections and others not yet traced.

To celebrate its opening, on May 23rd and 24th, we invite you to participate in a series of tours, performances, activations and meetings, which will take place in various locations in the cities of León and Guanajuato.
