After three memorable editions at Expo Reforma, Feria Material enters a new chapter at Maravilla Studios, an expansive new venue located in the Atlampa neighborhood, with access through Gate 1 at Fresno 315. In the context of an increasingly crowded and diverse Mexico City Art Week, this change of venue represents a strategic decision that allows the fair to rethink its scale, layout, and overall experience.
The week will begin with the now-iconic Material Monday on Monday, February 2, 2026. Dedicated to the opening of exhibitions by local galleries participating in the fair, Material Monday has established itself as one of the most dynamic days of Art Week. Taking place on a public holiday, this exciting afternoon unfolds as an open circuit throughout the city, free and accessible to the public. Material will provide complimentary transportation along the gallery route.
Material’s performance program, IMMATERIAL, curated by Michelangelo Miccolis, will present two works at Casa del Lago UNAM during Mexico City Art Week. On Wednesday, February 4, the Australian artist Ivan Cheng will premiere MOOD RING (temor teflon) for the first time in Latin America. Closing the program at this venue, Adriana Lara will present Jessy Bulbo as part of her Red Social project on the afternoon of Friday, February 6.
The VOCAL talks program will take place within the fair’s forum, featuring informal conversations between collectors and members of a board of trustees. These sessions, held from February 6 to 8, aim to delve into the dynamics, relationships, and structures that shape the collecting ecosystem in Mexico.
Another major announcement for this edition is the participation of the independent spaces that make up Material’s 3rd Generation of Projects for 2026 and 2027. The six selected spaces will present at Feria Material for the first time in Vol. 12, during Mexico City Art Week 2026.
