Antonio García Cubas Award for the book José Clemente Orozco: Final Cut

We are happy to announce that the book José Clemente Orozco: Final Cut, edited by Temblores Publicaciones, received an honorary mention in the “catalog” category of the Antonio García Cubas Award in its XXIII edition.

We are happy to announce that the book José Clemente Orozco: Final Cut, edited by Temblores Publicaciones, received an honorary mention in the catalog category of the Antonio García Cubas Award in its XXIII edition, given by the Instituto Nacional de Antropología e Historia (INAH) to those considered to be the best books and the most outstanding editorial work in the field of Anthropology and History in Mexico.

This publication—which accompanied the Arizona State University Art Museum (ASUAM) exhibition of the same name—was an editorial effort that seeks to account for the late and under-recognized artist production in both United States and Mexico, while revitalizing the revisions that have been made of his plastic production through the words and works of contemporary artists from the city of Guadalajara, where he left a palpable mark within the art scene.

We want to dedicate this distinction to the memory of José Clemente Orozco Farías whose support, writing, management work, and affection were vital for the production of this publication. At the same time, we thank the authors Dafne Cruz Porchini, Miki Garcia, and Julio César Morales, the designer Surya Son, the Orozco Foundation, and the editor Ana Gabriela García for their dedicated and critical work.
