On the occasion of the digital exhibition DECLARACIÓNES CUERPO held at the Cetro de la Imagen (Mexico City), Temblores Publicaciones published the book that accompanies this exhibition. For its presentation “The editorial body of a digital exhibition” the photographers Gabriel Rendón, Aimee Melo, Emilia Duclos, Juan Hoppe, Catalina Cea, and Santy Mito will talk with the editors of the publication and the curators of the exhibiton about the powers of publishing and the digital support.
In the digital era, images are needed to generate physical presence in the public sphere. DECLARACIÓNES CUERPO (BODY’S DECLARATIONS) deals about representations of the body in the geographies of two nations (Mexico and Chile), whose recent histories have been marked by the feminist movement, the assualt of neoliberal capitalism as well as by continuous and unequal technological developments. Through these lenses, the exhibition draws a constellation of meanings tracing contemporary visual discourses about the clamor of the body, its place, and its presence in the world.
