A minimal transposition of letters can turn the word Art into Rat. And that is precisely what this mini-series is about: the anagram of Art Attack, the craft show that captivated hundreds of children born in the nineties and in which, according to the slogan, “you don’t need to be an expert to be a great artist”. Rat Attack! pays homage to the supposed inferiority of crafts and parodies the intellectual and theoretical aura of art.

This exhibition marks the closing of the 2020 generation of the SOMA Educational Program: Oswaldo Aranda, Wendy Cabrera Rubio, Clemente Castor, Ángela Ferrari, Martín Bernstein, Josué Mejía, Valentina Guerrero Marín, Israel Urmeer, Perla Ramos, Samuel Nicolle and Marek Wolfryd.

And who better than a group of rats to guide us through the underground discussions and the underworlds of contemporary art in the 21st century? The route is winding: from the weeds to hashtags, from found objects to parallel realities, from the grotesque to the mythological, from financial investment to the import of systems of oppression. But don’t worry: each chapter will offer you tools for self-learning, visual appreciation and reflection to question, rethink, resist or even join the art system! Say goodbye to passivity on the other side of the screen and join the attack of the rats. Share this plastic adventure with your whole family.

Exhibition open until October 17 at the SOMA facilities, Calle 13 n. 25, Col. San Pedro de los Pinos, by appointment.
