In its sixth edition, the Lit & Luz Festival of Language, Literature, and Art, organized by MAKE Literary Productions, continues to promote international collaborations while creating a space to generate essential dialogues between the inhabitants of Mexico and the United States.

This year’s festival theme, Movement, asks the participants and audience to consider migration, social movements, and bodies in motion.

At its heart, Lit & Luz is a cultural exchange between writers, musicians, filmmakers, and visual artists from Mexico and United States. With the festival taking place first in Chicago, then Mexico City, it is a conversation between two countries. We choose to focus on collaborations in order to foster meaningful and lasting professional relationships and cross-cultural friendships. This cycle’s participants include: Diana del Ángel, Verónica Gerber Bicecci, Israel Martínez, Sara Uribe, Dalia Huerta Cano, Eula Biss, Emily Jungmin Yoon, Yvette Mayorga, Michel Rodriguez Cintra, Sebastián Hidalgo, Sadie Woods, and many more!

The festival runs from February 12 to 15 with free events taking place at venues throughout Mexico City. The festival concludes on Saturday, February 15 when the Museo Universitario del Chopo co-presents the Live Magazine Show, at 8 PM, sharp. At the Live Magazine Show pairs of Mexico and U.S based participants debut their multimedia creative collaborations.
