Latitude Art Fair is held between September 24 – 27, 2020, and access is free and open to all. Press and VIP guests will be able to access the online event first-hand, from September 23, 2020. The event is a partnership with Artsy and will include viewing rooms, a sales inquiry and a collector conversation function, and an augmented reality feature. Nearly all ABACT associate galleries are participating in the fair, amounting to a total of 54 galleries including fourteen newly associated.

Among participants are some of Brazil’s largest and internationally well-known galleries, as well as a wide range of galleries from different regions of Brazil whose presence in international art fairs is not so frequent, and to whom digital initiatives are offering a new opportunity to expand their outreach to international audiences. The full list of participating galleries is available here.

For the Latitude Art Fair, galleries are focusing on new and recent works by Brazilian artists,  presenting up to 15 artworks each—on average, by one to five different artists. Garnering momentum, many galleries are promoting parallel programs with a series of online events taking place throughout the whole week of Latitude Art Fair week. Programs include virtual studio visits, talks and guided tours, mostly available through each gallery’s Instagram profiles or websites.

As part of the fair’s official programme, Latitude Art Fair is also promoting partnerships with art advisors for tailored guided tours to groups of collectors and art professionals from various countries and institutions.

Latitude – Platform for Brazilian Art Galleries Abroad is a partnership between ABACT [Brazilian Association of Contemporary Art] and Apex-Brasil [Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency]. The project has now successfully supported the Brazilian art market internationally for over a decade, offering its participating galleries opportunities to expand their activities worldwide through the support for participation in art fairs and international events, the funding of market research for a better understanding of their market, and the provision of opportunities for engagement and exchange between art professionals from abroad and Brazil’s art scene.
