Film Fatale, an exhibition of work by Martín Sichetti curated by Florencia Qualina, is held at Hache Galería from March 12 to April 20, 2019. Film Fatale consists of a series of drawings and videos that explores film noir in movies released—mostly between 1940 and 1960—by classic authors like John Huston, Fritz Lang, and Billy Wilder, but also by lesser-known figures like Ida Lupino. An actress, director, producer, and screenplay writer, Lupino, though a pioneer in film, has been largely neglected by canonical film history. Pursuant to exhaustive research driven by love and knowledge of film, Martín Sichetti selects stills that he later reworks in drawings and videos triggered by film noir narrative devices. Film Fatale speaks of shifting identities and appearances, and of unbridled eagerness.
