In these times when fairs are cancelled and exhibitions around the world postpone their dates or close, Galería Nueva offers a space on Doctor Fourquet Street in Madrid to all those national or international galleries that wish to show the work of their artists in our city.

The art market has not stopped during these months, although the physical fairs, museums and galleries of half the world have. While in Europe galleries remain closed and all art fairs are cancelled or postponed, collectors have not ceased to act. Sales, managed mainly online and by telephone, require active participation by dealers, gallery owners and intermediaries, and occasionally, a physical space in which to meet with clients and “touch” the works. On-line fairs have not worked as well as expected, since the screen is not a good substitute for the corridors of a fair, where meetings take place, deals are closed and old friends are greeted.

In Galería Nueva, on the other hand, we can enjoy an exhibition and meet people to talk to. In Madrid there are a large number of gallery owners, curators, collectors, cultural managers and artists who frequent the 13 galleries on Doctor Fourquet Street and the 5 museums that surround it: Nogueras Blanchard, Maisterravalbuena, Helga de Alvear, Espacio Mínimo, Galería Silvestre, Juan Silió, Moisés Pérez de Albéniz, F2, Marta Cervera, The Ryder, 1 Mira Madrid and Xavier Fiol are surrounded by the Reina Sofía Museum, the Thyssen-Bornemisza, Caixa Forum, La Casa Encendida and Tabacalera, and very close to the Mapfre Foundation and the Prado Museum. In the middle of this art hub is Galería Nueva.
