Last weeks to visit the two exhibitions in the gallery. In the main hall, we present the second individual exhibition of Luis Hampshire, winner of the XVIII Biennial of Painting Rufino Tamayo, who presents us with a new body of work, of great degree of maturity and artistic proposal. mundonomundo is the exhibition with which he culminates the research carried out in the project mole negro, in which he has worked on the last four years, and consists of a series of accumulations and assemblies of painting that conform structures-bodies that welcome times, histories and materials of dissymbolic origin. Through paintings, wall interventions and an artist’s book, Hampshire’s work seeks difference, collapse, fragility and density as a metaphor for living in everyday life where everything is a montage susceptible to being used, reassembled or shaped in other ways.

On the other hand, we are pleased to present La destreza de un pintor consiste en sabe pintar el aire, a solo exhibition by Mauricio Marcin, current curator of the Museo de Arte Carillo Gil and an essential figure of the contemporary art scene in Mexico. His work, light, fresh and apparently carefree, shows his very personal stance before a world full of horror and beauty and before the sense of artistic practice. His paintings, which frequently resort to healing elements such as turmeric and ginger, result in protective presences and invitations to affection.

Both Hampshire and Marcin have developed their careers in art, curatorship and cultural management. The fact of presenting them together is a recognition of their integral work in the field.
