Microondas

Tokio Galería, Lima, Perú
July 26, 2018 – August 22, 2018

The gallery works, month after month, as an open workshop for various artists invited to participate and work in the room. The works are only an indicator of experience, a possibility open both to trial and error.

Microwave represents the idea of constant change, transforming the exhibition space in an open laboratory. With this logic, the artists rotate and a series of samples is generated and presented as a movable and permeable collective, as the spectator will not see the same event two times.

The state of the process of these works invites the viewer to created different connections between a known place and an unknown one since nowadays we seem to be surrounded by the concept of pre-fabricated. This program tries to break with it.

We invite, from Tokyo Gallery, to visit our Microwave editions. Participating in this month edition: Raura Oblitas (PER), Abdul Vas (VEN), Valeria Rovatti (ARG), Wynnie Mynerva (PER), Rodrigo Carazas Portal (PER), María Paula Moreno (COL), Daiana Ares (ARG), Adrián Pijoan (US), among others.

Tokio Gallery is an independent space located in Callao, Lima, Peru. With one year in operation, it has created diverse exhibitions in the Latin American contemporary art scene. It has participated in the art fair ChACO ’17 of Chile. It is currently managing its presence at the European SWAB (2018).
