raquel salas rivera’s accolades include being named Poet Laureate of Philadelphia, the New Voices Award, the Lambda Literary Award, the Ambroggio Award and an NEA fellowship. He is the author of six collections of poetry that have been semi finalists and finalists for the National Book Award, the Pen America Open Book Award, and the CLMP Firecracker Award. He holds a PHD in Comparative Literature from the University of Pennsylvania and works as a principal investigator for The Puerto Rican Literature Project, a digital portal that users can use to learn about Puerto Rican poetry.
