He is currently the curator of the UBS MAP Latin America program at the Guggenheim Museum. From 2015 to 2016 he was the director of Casa da Alfandega in Rio de Janeiro. He recently curated the current Latin American art exhibition Under the Same Sun / Bajo el misma sol, which traveled from the Guggenheim (2014) to the Jumex Museum (2016). For a decade, León del Barra has participated in the promotion of young Latin American art, few like him know the creative scenes of Puerto Rico, Brazil, Guatemala and Mexico, among other countries; his curatorial forays are registered on the Center for the Aesthetic Revolution blog. Last year he was invited by Carlos Amorales to collaborate as curator in La vida en los plegues, the Mexican pavilion at the Venice Biennale.
