Lorena Peña Brito

Has studies in Visual Arts (UdeG); Critic of Art, Curatorial Management and has a master in Critical Theory for the 17 Institute of Critical Studies. She was a member of Colectivo de Acción y Creación Artística (C.A.C.A.) and co-founder of the alternative project of contemporary art Clemente Jacqs Laboratorio. She coordinated the curatorship area at the Cabañas Cultural Institute, as well as several projects from the Planning Department of the General Directorate of Culture of Guadalajara. She was a member of the nonprofit organization Aires de Occidente AC aimed to the discussion of contemporary art and creative processes. She has written texts for various exhibitions in Guadalajara and her work has been published in different magazines nationwide. She has been a counselor for MURA, LAJM and Mural, Reforma; and was a jury of PECDA Jalisco, of which she has also been a tutor in the disciplines of Visual Arts and Interdiscipline. She worked as an independent professional for various projects, among others: Diagonal Escuela Libre (member of the organizing committee) and has recently carried out curatorial projects for the City Museum, the International Book Fair, and the Ministry of Culture, Jalisco. She has obtained the PECDA, Jalisco, PAC and Bancomer Foundation grants for PAOS GDL, and FONCA Special Projects and Spanish Cultural Action for the project Abierto- Abierto. She is currently the director of PAOS GDL: José Clemente Orozco Workshop Museum. She lives and works in the City of Guadalajara.
