Javier Ocampo

His work refers to different experiences, beliefs and conceptions of what it means, for the author, to be a Mexican homosexual artist. He addresses various aspects of the political, affective and ironic through the incorporation of video, photography, installation and performance.

He studied a Master’s Degree in Arts at the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México. She obtained the ECOES-Santander scholarship for student mobility and the PECDA-Morelos scholarship (2017). He won first prize in the 5th University Video Art Contest organized by MUAC-UNAM, and first place in the Morelos Portrait Contest, among others. His work has been exhibited in biennials and contemporary art festivals, among them: Arte Joven Aguascalientes, the Cervantino Festival and the Cultural Center of Spain in Mexico, Norberto Griffa Biennial.
