Hank Willis Thomas

Is a conceptual artist working with ideas of identity, history and race, appropriating language and images from the civil rights movement and changing their meaning to expose stereotypes. Willis Thomas has expanded his practice beyond making art to expose cultural divisions in our society. He earned two masters degrees from the California College of the Arts and a BA from New York University.
