Gabriela Rangel

She was Artistic Director of the Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires (MALBA) from 2019 to 2021. From 2004 to 2019 she was director of Visual Arts and chief curator at Americas Society in New York. She has an MA in Curatorial Studies from Bard College, Annandale-on-Hudson; a master’s degree in Media and Communication Studies from the Andrés Bello Catholic University in Caracas; Film studies at the International Film School of San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba. She worked at the Fundación Cinemateca Nacional and the Alejandro Otero Museum in Caracas, and the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston. She has curated and co-curated numerous modern and contemporary art exhibitions including Marta Minujín, Carlos Cruz-Diez, Gordon Matta-Clark, Arturo Herrera, Paula Trope, and Alejandro Xul Solar.
