He has made several exhibitions and participated in various international biennials and triennials. He has published several books on Amazonian art and curated various exhibitions in Peru and abroad. Among other recognitions, he received, in 2000, the First Prize in the National Art Contest Passport for an artist and in 2012 he obtained the National Prize for Culture in the Creativity category. He was director of the National Institute of Culture of Loreto (2010). Founding partner and artistic director of the international fair Art Lima (2013 – 2016), founder and director of Bufeo. Amazonía + Arte (2015 – 2018), project dedicated to the research, promotion and management of Amazonian art. In 2019 his exhibition <em>Indios antropófagos</em> represented Peru at the 58th Venice Art Biennale.
